I can rarely pass up an unusual purse. This one has been crafted of some kind of wool pompoms and black wire and totally rocks, quite obviously! This is my latest fabulous find at My Sister’s Closet—the consignment store in Edgebrook that, of my favorite secondhand stores that haven’t closed, is my very most favorite.
Secondhandsleuth.com was begun to feature all of my favorite secondhand shops and finds, and evolved to include an interactive Flash map I created as a school project that none of my classmates truly appreciated. Now, through the wizardry of an easily installed WordPress blog seamlessly linked to my Flickr account, I can entertain myself writing about my thrifty finds without so much work.
Enjoy! And be sure to compliment me on my latest purse when next we meet.
Edit 2025: I am happy to say My Sister’s Closet is still open, 5413 W Devon Ave in the Edgebrook neighborhood of Chicago.
Also, here is a static version of the original SecondhandSleuth.com map, without the pop-up star ratings and reviews:
