During my visit to Fort Collins, Colorado in September, my Aunt Pam and I had lunch at one of our favorite places, the Silver Grill. Afterwards we decided to check out the shop next door, Walnut Creek FOCO. It turned out to be everything we love—a mix of vintage and locally-made art, clothing, jewelry, and household items.
I came home with a pair of earrings made to look like little books and a gauzy flowered cardigan. Aunt Pam fell in love with an artist who made assembled object trays like the “Embrace Joy” above. I think she bought a piece that day and has gone back for more.
There is another store we visited nearby that I had also checked out on our family trip to Fort Collins in 2023. It is called Brand Spanking New. I have found great jeans and tops there both times I have visited. Aunt Pam found a small loom in the craft section at the back. It’s a big store with great variety.
We visited Eco-Thrift, which had a great book room although the rest of the store was a bit cramped. Definitely some bargains to be had if we’d spent more time. And we also hit Fort Collins Flea Market, part of a row of flea markets and antique malls with many vendor booths on the south end of town. I’ve been visiting those with Aunt Pam since the 1990s.
If you have a chance to visit Fort Collins you can use my Fort Collins Resale Shops list which I’ll keep expanding as I go back.
Wow! Very cool, Rachel. Thank you for writing of our shopping spree together. I love those book earrings, just might have to go back to see if there are more so I can buy a pair for me. Imagine if there was a small chip embedded in one that relayed the contents to my brain. Or, even better, my brain sent my thoughts to the chip! I always have fun when you and I go on an adventure.
